Jorge Rivera was scheduled to face fellow middleweight fighter Alessio Sakara as the co main event on UFC 122 in Dusseldorf, Germany. With only and hour to go until his fight, Rivera found himself without an opponent. In a surprising turn of events, Sakara pulled out of the fight at the event, sighting sickness as the reason for his withdrawal. While Rivera was compensated by the UFC for the fight, he and his corner were left pondering the abruptness of the anticlimactic outcome to their long preparation.

Friday, November 5th saw the crowning of a new Marciano Tournament Champion. Bobby Flynn earned a hard fought unanimous decision to become the 165 lbs champion of his division. This concluded a four fight run through the super middleweight ranks in which Flynn faced formidable opposition including two dangerous south paws. [..]
